Capoeira advanced class, spring 2020
Capoeira is a Brazilian amalgamation of martial arts, dance and a physical game. Capoeira is a multidimensional sport and it is played in the rhythm of Afro-Brazilian music. Features of Afro-Brazilian popular culture, the performing art of dance, full contact battle, contact improvisation, and acrobatics can be seen in it. We practice capoeira at the Pasila community center (Topparikuja 2, Helsinki) twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday at the Pihlajamäki Youth Center from 12 PM to 2 PM. In our training, we aim to incorporate a multitude of different facets of capoeira, ranging from movement to music and different aspects of Afro-Brazilian culture.
Location: Tuesday and Thursday training is at the Pasila community center (Topparikuja 2, Helsinki). Saturday training is at Pihlajamäki Youth Center (Liusketie 1, 00710 Helsinki).
